Bodrum SHOPPING

You're really spoilt for choice when you come to Bodrum to shop. There are shops aimed at every budget, selling trinkets, souvenirs, jewellry, clothing, traditional handmade leather sandals, household items with a touch of aegean charm and of course lots of arts and crafts shops. There are weekly farmers markets, local artisan markets and shops tucked down cobblestone back streets and large shops huddled together for warmth in the air-conditional shopping centres and malls.

There’s a variety of options to build your ideal Bodrum Itinerary.  Do you want to fill an hour, or devote a whole day to shopping ’til you drop? Whether you want modern day or old world, cheap & cheerful or wallet-busting, there are plenty of shopping opportunities without having to venture too far afield>>>

Bodrum ENTERTAINMENT & EVENTS

Whether you're looking for a quiet little local restaurant down a Bodrum side street, or a lively little night club overlooking the sea there are plenty of places to eat and drink in Bodrum. This area of Turkey is also well known for its cultural event, and each year there are music and dance events throughout the Bodrum Peninsula. You're sure to find a local event that grabs your attention and creates lasting memories for your Bodrum holiday.

Bodrum HISTORY

To give you a deeper appreciate of the area, it's important to know a little bit about it's history. Bodrum is the home to Herodotus who is known as the Father of History, and in ancient times Bodrum was known as Halicarnassus (Halicarnassos). Alexander the Great stormed the city in the 4th Century BC and the Knights of St. John helped build Bodrum Castle many years later using stones from the Mausoleum, one of the 7th Wonders of the Ancient World.

Immerse yourself in Bodrum's history, or just dip your toe into it's colorful and intriguing past. Knowing a little bit about what went into establishing this Aegean town is a must, and a visit to Bodrum Castle and Museum is an historical highlight well worth the time and effort.
