Turkish visitor visa requirements vary by nationality. Some nationalities don’t require a visa but still have length-of-stay restrictions. Other nationalities need to purchase a valid 30, 60 or 90 day visa before entering the country.

If you hold a U.S., Canadian, or Australian passport you need to buy an eVisa before you travel to Turkey.

It’s a simple process to apply online, and you should use the official website: www.evisa.gov.tr

You can plan multiple visits within your 180-day period, and may have to apply for another 90-day visa to cover your stay.

Arrival and Departure Immigration Check

At your Turkish point of entry, the immigration agent will check your eVisa and stamp your passport with your entry date. It’s your responsibility to make sure you don’t overstay your visitors visa. When you leave they’ll stamp your passport again with your departure date.

Penalties for overstaying your Visa

You’ll go through passport control when you leave Turkey, and your visitor’s visa will be checked to confirm you haven’t overstayed.

If you overstay your visa, you will have to apply for your next visa at a Turkish Embassy or Consulate before you can re-enter Turkey. You could also be banned from re-entering Turkey for a period of time.

If you have a complaint or need to report an issue related to your visa, there’s a WhatsApp number to call: +90-516-164-0048

Tracking your Days

Your right to stay follows the Schengen rules, which means you can only stay in the country for 90 days out of every 180-day period.

It’s based on a rolling time-frame, and you can use one of the online calculators to figure out your travel days remaining.
