Fish Restaurant

You’re really spoilt for choice for seafood restaurants in Gümüşlük. After all, fish restaurants are what this local Bodrum Peninsula village is known for. But if you’re on a budget, the restaurants that line the harbour may put too much of a strain on your wallet.

So if you’re looking for a more budget-friendly restaurant to eat at, you should head for the Gümüşlük Balik Pisirme Evi (Fish Cooking House) which is located right next door to the Mars Cafe, on the road leading to the harbour craft market.

This restaurant used to be a fish mongers, but has morphed into this busy local restaurant that hosts hoards of local Turks (and holiday-makers in the know) in the evenings for hot freshly caught fish and ice cold raki.

As well as the main covered patio area at street level, there’s also a roof top deck with plenty more seating. Here’s a selection of photos I took of the restaurant and the local view.

So maybe you don’t get to hear the sounds of the water lapping nearby, but the roof top deck is a great location for catching a breath of the ocean breeze, and enjoying the ambiance of a local fish restaurant, without a hefty price tag to ruin your digestion.
