There’s a beautiful example of a Windmill by Yalikavak Harbour. It’s been fully renovated, and you can go inside and climb around. It was built in 1859, and was originally used to mill wheat and barley. After years of being abandoned, it was renovated in 2005, and opened up to the public.View full post

Yalikavak Windmills & MMK Yeldeğirmeni Cafe are nestled in the hills above Yalikavak. There’s a trio of windmills, one of which has been fully renovated and taking advantage of the view is a restaurant/cafe that is open all day and serves a Turkish breakfast.

Gerişaltı (Lower Geriş) is a continuation of Yalikavak, just the other side of the Marina, and has a varied selection of restaurants hugging the coastline. It’s within easy walking distance of Yalikavak, and also on the local dolmus route.
