The Gumusluk weekly market continues to grow, but it’s still a local’s market full of fresh local produce and textiles and clothes the local shoppers are looking. It’s not full of tourist tat! Visit here on a Wednesday to experience a Traditional Turkish market.
Not all of Gumusluk’s cafes and restaurants are located right along the harbour, but even those that at first glance seem a little bit out of the way, can provide a different perspective on the tried and tested view at the water’s edge. This definitely the case for Cafe Nar Çiçeği, which is located on the land-side of the main road leading out of Gumusluk, just up the hill that takes you away from the harbour and craft stalls.
I captured this Ginger Cat in Gümüşlük Harbour posing and hopping about from boat to boat, looking for a place for an afternoon nap.

Here’s an alternative to the expensive fish restaurants that line Gümüşlük harbour. The Gümüşlük Balik Pisirme Evi (Fish Cooking House) is located right next door to the Mars Cafe, by the harbour craft market.
One of my favourite shops in Gümüşlük is Kikkula. It has a broad range of arts and souvenirs, and you’re guaranteed to find something you’ll fall in love with. You’re guaranteed a warm welcome by the shops owners Tuna and Uta.

A photo gallery of Victoria’s near Gumusluk in the Koyunbaba area. It’s a little off the beaten path, but well worth the detour. As well as a restaurant and bar, there’s horse riding, a beach, an above ground pool and regular entertainment, all topped off with a wonderful atmosphere.

Plot up in front of one of the many restaurants or pensions that line the beach, and they’ll bring you food and drinks during your lounging hours. As the sunset drawers near, the loungers will get packed away and be replaced by tables and chairs on the beach. Don’t rush to leave – watching the sun slip slowing behind Rabbit Island, is enchanting.
